I have watched him perform live, on video and worked with him on “Bizarre Shrink”, even in his books you know that his only philosophy is the entertainment of his spectators. He believes so much in that theory that he isn’t above making himself seem silly if it gets a laugh, bless him. He taught me that the magic is in the entertainment. That the end goal is not the effect, but the enjoyment.

@OZ – I remember that episode, and though it was all in fun, it’s sad . . . because it’s true. This is the biggest reason I publish this Magazine and spend so much time on it for soooooo little financial reward. I really do believe in trying shape future magicians to be the next generation of real magicians. I consider Paul Harris my unaware-that-he-is-the-leader leader of my little cult.

Or a magician that is arrogant and makes them feel inferior if they don’t know how the effect was done, they feel they didn’t see a trick, there were tricked. Jerry Seinfeld says the following “What is the point of the magician? He comes on, he fools you, you feel stupid, show’s over … It’s like, ‘Here’s a quarter. Now it’s gone. You’re a jerk.” Sadly far to many magicians perform just that way.
