@Steve – I’m a huge fan of writing stuff down for sure. I’ve always got my journal with me. Check out the September 2010 Roots and Branches article called, How to Create Magic. At the very bottom is a link called Journal Video. That’ll give you some insight into my love for journals.

Have you seen John Archer’s version of Kolossal Killer . . . Komedy Killer. It’s so much better, in my opinion.

On the Sankey thing – I hear ya man. That’s one of the reasons I’m such a big fan too.

Heh . . . Heh . . . Sponge Balls

That being said one of the reasons I am such a big Sankey fan is because of the stuff that can be done off the cuff with coins, stir sticks, sugar packets etc. When I was a new magician I wanted all need cool looking props but as I matured I realized how powerful it is when you use everyday objects. As for the the levitation, I gave up on that, I could never get 3 feet off the ground like DB and make people lose their minds.

Oh yeah and the sponge ball / tennis elbow really did make me LOL.

I would also recommend carrying a small pocket notebook around to quickly write your ideas down. This has been an important piece when I am in the creative mode. I am rarely with out my little green book. Get the kind that have stitching in the binder so it is not so bulky. I bought my last set from an office supply store.
