I thought maybe it was one of those effects that appeal to magicians but to lay people not so much. I feel the same way about ‘Marked Thought’ from one of the Osterlind DVD’s.

If I would have given up a trick every time it messed up, I wouldn’t have anything left to perform. I’m speaking to myself, but I’m sure it applies to many people: There will always be bad days, but don’t let that ruin all the good ones 🙂

He said his goal is to try to set it up all around the world 😀

I LOVE Memory Lapse, worth the price of 22 Blows in my opinion, however I performed it once and it fell flat. I’m sure it was the way I handled it but as Ralphie said when he saw some grizzly bears by Polaski’s candy store, ‘they looked at me like I had lobsters crawling out of my ears’ I was shattered and haven’t had the nerve to try it again. But now I must.

@Sal – I once heard that Malini used to set up stuff at people’s houses sometimes weeks or longer in advance in hopes that the opportunity would arise. If it did, great; if not, oh well.

I agree with the whole ‘I hope they call me over’ idea being stronger than ‘I’ll be back’. You could prepare the most powerful effect in your arsenal that takes hours to set up (ok, that’s a bit of an exaggeration), and make it seem impromptu, since they’re calling you over.
