@Oliver – Good to “see” you man! Yeah, I’ve also experimented along those lines. I’ve got a wallet that has a 30 to 45 minute show in it that packs extremely flat and is very portable. I’ve also come up with (or used other people’s) routines that center on what I normally have on me (my wedding ring, keys, change, cash, credit card, etc). It’s a fun intellectual experiment . . .

Anyone else care to share?

I’ve tried a similar exercise but just using your business cards, or just using yourself and your body (after having a very vivid ‘turned up without any props’ nightmare!)

However, it depends on how one is defining “effect.” Unless each routine lasts more than 6 minutes, you’ll need at least 10 for an hour show. Some tricks only take a minute or two. However, those short ones may be blended into a routine and not be counted as an individual effect.

My List Would Certainly Include:

Shuffle Bored (Aronson)
The Trick That Can’t Be Explained (Vernon)
Spectral Chill (Me)
Las Vegas Leaper (Paul Harris)
Hummer Addition (Lorayne)
Cutting The Tens (Ackerman ?)
10 Card Poker Deal (Burger’s handling)

But for 45 minutes I would perform the following. Cards to card case, homing card, cards across, any card at any number, ambitious card(inc. card under glass, card to wallet, sankey’s $#$%# ) and close with 3 card monte. If I happened to be wearing my toppit I would close with a full deck vanish.

That guy can do anything with a deck of cards. I once saw him build an actual edible cheese burger with nothing but a deck of cards.

You want to do this all day long? Pick up Eddie Tullock’s DVD — and especially listen to his opinion of card magic being dull. Fun and funny stuff!
