Without sounding like a faro geek, I faro from the top. I’m left-handed, so I weave the left hand cards into the right. I make a little v to get the top few cards weaving, and hold my left first finger on top where the cards meet. I place my first finger under the right hand half and apply pressure to hold those cards squared. I use a “sawing motion” with my left hand to interlace the cards.
