Thanks! I’m glad you like it. I just use the cheap $3.00 plastic set. They’re colorful and don’t look too “propy,” so it works well.

It was one of the first effects I worked into my close-up act. Loved it when I saw it and it has been in my act ever since (it still is in my act). The vanish of the coin after the reveal of the pen always (without fail) blows people away (just like any well done “Backstage Effect”). So I have very strong feelings about this effect (old, true friend that it is). The idea of adding the nesting boxes takes this to a whole new level and I am really upset that I never thought of it. I don’t have a set of boxes, but I have kept the old matchbox inside the ball of yarn effect. I have found their is a great deal of fun and laughs when adults watch other adults try to unravel the yarn. When they find the matchbox and their marked coin, jaws hit the floor and hearts skip a beat (you can hear it happen). Since reading this add on to my tried and true friend I have performed it over a dozen times and the fun factor and miracle at the end is a hard combo to beat, thanks
