I think that’s a decent idea. It adds a bit of extra Umph to it. It reminds me of some of the ideas in William’s Omega Bet

Once the face down cards are place in the face up deck, ask someone to say ‘above or below’. It they say above, you say ‘okay we will use the cards above the face down card’. If they say below, you say ‘okay the face down card will be below the selection’. One one hand I think it reinforces the randomness of the selection, on the other hand it could just over complicate a pretty straight forward effect. What do you guys think?

@OZ – I love it. That’s super clever dude. In fact I remember the exact moment that I ripped off that idea from you. 🙂

Got great reactions, I came up with patter about how sometimes magic looks like coincidence and coincidences look like magic. Reveal the first match and say ‘That is a coincidence’ the say ‘ but if the other two match that is…’ invariably someone will say ‘magic’ then I say ‘No that’s another coincidence whats magic is this’ and reveal the different color backs. As Boris would say ‘Like a chainsaw to the foot!’

@Brendan – Thanks for the post. I totally agree. I’m working on a solution for that. We’re safe for now, and hopefully the solution will be in place by August or September’s issue.

@OZ – Thanks man. I love Paul Richards! He’s got a ton of great stuff, and he’s a super nice guy. For the unfamiliar, here’s his site:

Try to make it so if a spectator knows the name of the trick, he CAN’T find this as the third entry in Google FFS. It’s called exposure? Try to avoid it?

Kind of reminds me of ‘White Bikes’ by Paul Richards which me marketed for $15 I think. Jacked Up? Free! Thanks Jeff.

One of the card tricks that I did forever in my kids routine was a torn and restored card to balloon. Vanish the pieces using the same technique that I vanish the Key in Key-Oh-Nee Buh-Lo-Nee (I know you already own that).

Then have a Dup in the balloon. Shoot me an email if you want more details.
