Rest assured that nobody was attempting to accuse of or treat you like you are stupid or a novice. This was an excerpt (that I am sharing for free) from my book. It's a piece found toward the end of the book, and by the time the reader reaches that part of the book, the method and details have been outline clearly. When I decided to offer this effect as one of the nearly 50 free effects on this site, I inadvertently overlooked the fact that a bit further explanation was needed (since the readers on this site may not have read the book). I'm not sure what the "poorer excuse" is to which you referred, but I'm sorry that a missing paragraph in a free effect made you feel that way. I've updated the text. Hopefully it's more clear. Additionally, there are several free effects on this site regarding the frixion pen. Some of them have better information about the method. You can view those here: Frixion.

I am neither stupid or a novice (20 years performing magic professionally), and from what is on this page I don’t get it.

Jeff, was this supposed to leave out some of the key points of the method? In which case, please let everyone know they should rapidly pick up Stone Frixion Fire (either book or DVD – better yet, both) to find the real workings.
