Free Magic For Life – Again!

Hey folks! It’s time to give away another Free Stone Cold Magic Products for life membership. The last time we did this, the participation was excellent. Let’s up the ante and spread the fun. The prize is (as before) any product in our current catalog and any product added to our catalog in the future is yours free (1 copy of each) for life. If you have already purchased any of the products you will be reimbursed for them (provided you purchased them from stonecoldmagic.com).

So what’s the contest? It’s a YouTube contest. Here are the rules:

  • Film yourself performing any trick from the Free Monthly Magic Tricks Section of Stone Cold Magic Magazine.
  • Upload it to YouTube
  • Email me the link to the YouTube clip
  • In the Video you need to include the following:
    • Your Name
    • The Name of Trick
    • Which Month it Was the Free Trick
    • Performance of the Trick
  • I must have the link emailed to me no later than November 30, 2009 at 11:59 PM PST

Judgment – Your video will be judged by me and my team. You will be judged on one thing . . . Entertainment Value.

Note, you’ll need the password for the free monthly magic tricks. It’s emailed to all subscribers, and as we all know, subscribing is free. You’ll get the password, and it will unlock all of the free tricks. It changes each month.

Free Stuff!

We’ve added a new product that many people have been asking for, the Bicycle “The Standard” playing cards. Both this month’s and April 2009′s Free Trick take advantage of these cards. For $9.95, you get two decks, and shipping is included.

However, for the next few days, any purchase of either Stone Cold Magic DVD, Gemstones DVD, or Kingside Castling will include both decks for FREE! Additionally, the first 3 orders of Stone Cold Magic DVD will receive a free mini deck of Bicycles with their order. I’ve only got three mini decks left.

You’ve got until Saturday October 10th to take advantage of the Free “The Standard” Decks. Remember gang, we ship internationally for FREE!

Enjoy the rest of this Month’s Issue!

  1. This is a very cool idea. Will you publish the links so we all can see the videos? I think I will do one too, just for fun of course. Now to pick the trick…

  2. @OZ – Good idea. Anyone who participates, feel free to post a link here as well.

  3. To hecky-poo with free stuff for life. I want free stuff for afterlife!

  4. Yes! Another contest! I was only 100 posts away from first place last time, maybe this time I’ll do better :D

Jeff, I just have a few questions about the contest:

1: Is there a limit to how many entries we can have?

2: If we manage to do an entertaining routine but only have the deck (or coins, flashpaper, mini hands, etc) in the camera, does it still count or do we need to show our face?

  5. @Sal – No limit to how many entries. Enter as much as you want. As for seeing your face, I’d like to see your face so I can at least “meet” you, but it won’t hurt your chances of winning if you don’t.

@Chet – If you want magic in the afterlife, I hope I don’t have to go to Hecky-poo to bring it to you.

  6. re: Showing Our Faces

It would hurt MY chances of winning if I DID.

  7. Wow, didn’t expect another contest! My school holidays are coming to an end….hopefully I’ll find the time to enter. Best of luck for those who do enter, looking forward to seeing the submissions!

  8. Jeff, I have another question, how close to the instructions on the site does the performance have to be? Do I have to perform it step-by-step just like it’s written, or can I modify the handling? And if I can modify the handling, how much can be done?

I came up with a slight (sleight?) variation on one of the tricks while I was thinking of what to enter for the contest, and if it’s allowed, I think that’s what I’m going to enter (if I get around to filming it in time).

  9. @Sal – As long as the same basic effect is there, I’m cool. Changing the handling, etc is fine. Just don’t show me a coin trick and claim that it’s a variation of “Little People.”

  10. Well, I sadly am unable to make a video of my trick, but I’m still going to say write my variation of the Overtime that I came up with, just in case other people had the same problem as I did. You could always picture in your minds eye what it would have looked like in video and say to yourself ‘WOW! That guy really deserved the prize even without entering the contest’. Just throwing that out there :D

  11. @Sal – I’ve extended the deadline, so get the video done brother. I’d love to see it.
